Thousand Trails Lake Whitney – Texas

Our second Thousand Trails stop in Texas was Lake Whitney Campground after visiting Dallas for a day. It was a convenient location for us to spend one night before heading on to Austin for a couple of days of fun in the city . We didn’t get a chance to really use any of the amenities, but we did take a little grounds walk to the pool and hot tub area to bask in the sun for a moment, pretending it was really warmer than the 50 degrees it was showing 😎. This large 408 acre, 268 site campground had  plenty of options for great sites. We found a nice long gravel spot that was nestled amongst trees, giving us some nice privacy, but still letting the sun shine through. All in all I would classify Lake Whitney as your typical large acre, high number of sites to choose from, older property from Thousand Trails.

A great place to spend one night like we did, or a perfect spot to bring the family for a week of hiking, boating and camping fun! Also, check out our overview of Thousand Trails.  Thanks and feel free to ask us any questions in the comments below and we will do our best to answer them right away.
