TURKEY SAUSAGE BREAKFAST PATTIES
One area where many people struggle is getting in their protein at breakfast consistently. Getting a lean, unprocessed source is even harder. This turkey sausage breakfast patties recipe is great to add something new to your breakfast lineup. A few ideas to put it to use: have on its own with a piece of fruit on the side, as a bed for eggs over easy, chopped and added into scrambled eggs, or on a whole-wheat English muffin with egg.
INGREDIENTS
- 1 pound lean ground turkey (93%)
- 1 tsp fennel
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp fresh cracked black pepper
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp ground sage
- 1 tsp thyme
- ¼ tsp ground ginger
- 1/8 tsp red pepper flakes
- 1/8 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1-2 tsp olive oil
INSTRUCTIONS
- Combine turkey with salt, fennel, black pepper, garlic, sage, thyme, ginger, red pepper flakes, and cayenne pepper. Mix until well combined, careful not to overmix.
- Form into 8 equal-sized patties (2 ounces per patty)
- Heat medium/large skillet over medium/high heat. Once hot, add oil to coat.
- Arrange patties in the pan in a single layer, careful not to overcrowd. Work in two batches if you can’t fit into one pan. Once heated halfway through, flip to sear other side until cooked through.
